Delicious pizza with tons of vegetables


You can hide the veggies as well, they will never know. However we do recommend to use all vegetables while the kids are helping. This way they will be more open to try new or unusual things.

 

Ingredients

For the base
  • 300 strong white flour

  • 50 g semolina

  • 7 g (1 tsp) easy bake yeast

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 250 ml warm water (adjust accordingly)

For the sauce
  • 150 ml tomato sauce (any)

  • 2 cups of fresh vegetables : courgettes, peppers, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, carrots etc.

For the topping
  • Anything you fancy: chicken, ham, mushroom, pineapple, cheese, mozzarella, peppers, pepperoni etc

 

Method

  • Mix the sugar and yeast into the water.

  • Combine the flour and the semolina.

  • Pour the water to the flour and mix with hand or mixer and knead the dough until it has a smooth surface and feels like play dough.

  • Leave it on a warm place covered with a cloth until it doubles in size (1-2 hours).

  •  Meanwhile cut the vegetables up and process them in a liquidizer until very smooth. Add seasoning if needed. We used a home made tomato sauce, but any shop bought will do.

  • When the dough is ready, cut it into two pieces and roll it out. Oil the pans and place the pizza bases on them. You can make any shape pizza, round, square, triangle, dinosaur...

  • Spread the sauce evenly and add your toppings.
  • Bake the pizzas for approximate 25 minutes in a 220 ℃ oven.
  • Serve and Enjoy!
